Painting with 2 year olds:
It started out as painting on bubble wrap with brushes and then pressing paper on it to pick up the print.
And then they wanted to touch the painted bubble wrap, trying to pop the bubbles.
That lead to slippery fingers.
Next came the hands.
Then came the arms...
And then came the sink!!!
Love these tactile 2's!
We did this last week! I also found out that they love to jump and roll on bubble wrap, too!

ReplyDeleteHello! I am going to be teaching a 2 year old preschool class at a small church preschool this august! The 2010-2011 school year will be my first teaching preschool! I am SO excited, and am trying to research/find ideas for my classroom and our school year. I've loved reading your blog, and i've definitely gotten a better idea of how a 2 year old classroom runs. I'd love for you to email me with suggestions/advice for my first year, and for classroom set up! Also, I have started thinking about what my parent handbook and parent night literature should contain. Do you think you could share what all your parents receive/what the parent letter contains for the beginning of the year?

To the anonymous reader, this blog is great! Has given me a lot of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteTo Cheryl, we did something similar to this last week. I hot glued bubble wrap around a water bottle (water in for weight) and glued the top shut. Makes a great bubble-print roller.
Anonymous - I will e-mail you this week with some info. How fun to be starting your first year!
ReplyDeleteHolly - what a great idea! I can't wait to try that one!
