This week is Gardening Camp, so I set up the house corner as a flower shop. How nice was it that someone donated lots of fake flowers?
I had purchased this little garden gate over 10 years ago when we were in temporary housing during the building remodel. I thought it might work to keep kids out of a certain area of the upstairs patio. We never used it, and I've felt guilty all these years that it just sits in the storage room. Ha! Finally, so many years late, I've found a use for it!
One of the sections at the end swings open so they use it as a little gate to get in and out. We attached bells so it rings like in a little shop.
I added grocery carts so they could push their flower purchases around.
One camper decided to "sell" flowers to everyone in the classroom.
Including me.
Tomorrow we plant seeds. Happy gardening!
I've never set up a flower shop at preschool - you've inspired me. Now just to find some cheap fake flowers.
ReplyDeleteThat is so lovely. Why not add some cellophane so they can wrap their purchases? Or that green floral foam so they can make arrangements. We once set up a flower shop in our sandpit which meant we could add tin buckets and rakes and spades, it was lots and lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteTerrific. I've done a variation of this, but I really like your gate.
ReplyDeleteLove your garden gate!
