Using Bug Tongs

Bug Tongs.

One of our most favorite tools in the 2's and 3's classroom! These are just a few of the ways we use them. The 2's start by using 2 hands and the 3's use one hand. And yes, we've also used them outside to collect and transfer bugs!

I cannot recall where we purchased our bug catchers, but I did find some on Amazon for anyone interested:

  4. Interested in these for my classroom they look great! Where did you get them? I looked online and could only see to order them from Oriental Trading, is this where you got yours and do they last a while or break easily?

  5. Love these! Use them in occupational therapy with kids to work on fine motor all the time. The Amazon ones (pictured at the end of the post) have terrible reviews because I guess the cups always fall off and they are very flimsy. The blue ones from Oriental Trading Co. are good. Actually ordering more right now...

    1. Christie - thank you for the tip on getting them from Oriental Trading! We had some great sturdy ones that lasted for years. The ones we replaced them with broke quickly.
