Circles from Thread Spools
Awhile back someone donated some empty thread spools. We've used them to sort, to stack, even to string. When I was thinking of another circle activity (September's shape was the circle), I thought of the spools. How cool would it look to press them into paint and then onto paper? I was thankful we had different styles of spools. Each gave a new effect. Again, I put two different colors beside each other in one tray so the children could mix and see a 3rd color in the process. This activity worked with both the 2 year olds and 3 year olds.

I use spools to make snowflakes in the winter with white paint on blue paper with crystal glitter. Also at Christmas, I use them to decorate white gift bags with red and green paint and of course glitter....I love spools : )
ReplyDeletei love it honestly.

ReplyDeleteSometimes the old ones are the best - thanks for reminding me of the fun printing activity.
