With summer finally being here, our patio plants are thirsty! I set up a watering station so everyone could help.
Throughout the year we talk about taking care of living things.
We felt the soil in each pot and could see it was very dry.
Preschoolers love real jobs. They want to be useful. They took great care in making sure all our plants had plenty of water.
This is especially meaningful because they helped us plant these flowers months ago. They've watched them grow and bloom. They are learning how to treat plants with care.
Next week will be our Great Gardener's Camp, where we will get to explore this even more.

Hi Sheryl!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for a while now and I find it so inspiring! You always seemed so organized and everything is so well planned I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing some planning/organizing tips? Like how do you plan ahead? How do you organize your day/year? Do you have a curriculum that you follow or any favourite places to go for ideas?
I run an at home daycare and any advice you could give would be much appreciated!
Hi Kylie -
DeleteThank you so much! Oh, I wish I was that organized! I will share my organizational skills in a blog post this week. Stay tuned!
Oh my goodness, I never thought of taking my windowsill plants outside to let the children water! Doh! (hitting myself on the forehead!) Great idea, thanks for sharing...I will def be doing this.
ReplyDeleteIt only took me 13 years to figure this out. Funny how that happens, huh? :)
