Epsom Salt Sensory Table

One my favorite sensory tables involves epsom salts. The package I got recently was much finer than previously. I like being able to use both the fine and the course textures at different times.

The fine epsom salts are great with funnels.

The 2's and 3's loved watching the salt filter through the small holes.

Simple. Fun. We will use them again in January as make-shift snow, since we rarely get snow here. (Although they are predicting flurries tonight!)

What are some of your favorite materials for winter sensory bins?
Post them in the comments section below!

  1. My class loved using rice in one table and cotton balls in the other. I love the idea of using the salt for snow. I was going to use the microwave Ivory Snow for snow, but I think the salt would be better, I can see lots of burning eyes from the soap.
